About Community Brain Injury Services Providence Care

Providence Care is Southeastern Ontario’s leading provider of specialized care in aging, mental health, and rehabilitation. Continuing the legacy of our Founders, the Sisters of Providence of St. Vincent de Paul, Providence Care consists of Providence Care Hospital, Providence Transitional Care Centre, Providence Manor long-term care home, and more than 20 community-based mental health and support services across the region.

Community Brain Injury Services (CBIS) provides individualized programs using a participate-to-learn approach. The model rests on roles as goals, learning by experience in real-life contexts and the use of personal and environmental supports to enable participation. Community Brain Injury Services offers a variety of programming and services to clients, including group activities in Kingston, Belleville, and Brockville. Newly referred clients may participate in a group for newcomers, to learn about acquired brain injury and identify individual service goals.

Community Brain Injury Services is funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. It serves residents in the counties of Frontenac, Lennox and Addington, Hastings, Prince Edward, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville.
