The Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA) was founded by family members whose loved ones had sustained a brain injury. For the past 30 years, OBIA has been an instrumental force and resource for those whose lives have been affected by acquired brain injury (ABI). OBIA’s mission is to enhance the lives of Ontarians living with the effects of ABI through education awareness and support.

The Brain Changes Initiative (BCI) was founded by Dr. Matthew Galati, who was involved in a life-threatening motor vehicle accident in 2013 that left him with a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). After rehabilitation, he was able to return to medical school and now has a practice in Scarborough at Ellesmere Medical Clinic and research at Toronto Rehab. The Brain Changes Initiative funds ground-breaking research to improve the standard of care for TBI recovery. They also provide awareness, advocacy and support for TBI survivors through education, events and programs.

Together, OBIA and BCI are pleased to announce the development of a Distinguished Speaker’s Webinar series designed to inform front line health care workers and professionals in the field of brain injury.

Each webinar in the series will be hosted on Zoom from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on the dates listed below (Note: the May 13 session will be 90 minutes). Continuing Education Credits will be issued for each topic attended.

Webinar series video recordings/handouts

The webinar series is now complete and the videos and handouts will soon be available on OBIA’s YouTube channel.
