Ontario Brain Injury Association Research Study

OBIA’s research study is an ongoing collection of ABI data on; the time of diagnosis, access to rehabilitation or medical services and gaps and/or barriers within the system.

Our goal is to be able to use this data to better inform healthcare policy makers, Local Health Integrated Networks (LHINs), insurers, researchers and service providers who are examining ways in which people living with a brain injury can be better served. Through the participation of many survivors and caregivers across the province we have developed The OBIA Impact Report 2012: A Statistical Snapshot of Acquired Brain Injury and Its Effects on Survivors and Caregivers. This report provides an overview and analysis of ABI in Ontario, including how brain injuries are sustained; issues related to the recovery process and the impact of ABI on daily living.  The Impact Report also provides insight into the unique and very important perspective of those who are caregivers.

Your participation in our Research Questionnaire will enhance our ability to provide a greater unified voice on behalf of people living with brain injury in Ontario.
