June marked Brain Injury Awareness Month, and communities across Ontario came together to participate in the inaugural Raise the Flag Campaign. From Thunder Bay to London, municipalities proudly raised the Brain Injury Awareness flag in recognition of the millions of Canadians living with brain injury, as well as their families and caregivers.
Each flag raising provided an opportunity to shine a light on brain injury awareness and the individuals whose lives are affected by brain injury every day. The campaign also highlighted the importance of recognizing the lasting impacts of brain injury and the ongoing need for education, advocacy, and access to support services.
OBIA would also like to take this opportunity to thank every municipality, community partner, and local brain injury association that participated in this year’s Raise the Flag Campaign. Your support helped the campaign reach communities across Ontario, spread awareness of brain injury, and remind those affected that they are not alone.
This year’s campaign is only the beginning, and we look forward to seeing the Raise the Flag Campaign continue to grow in the years ahead, reaching even more communities across the province and expanding awareness of brain injury.
