The Your Health Space 2026 Conference, taking place October 27–28, 2026 in downtown Toronto, will bring together health care workers, leaders, researchers and system partners from across Ontario to share strategies, lessons learned and practical approaches to advancing workplace wellness. Hosted by Your Health Space, a provincial workplace mental health program developed by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ontario and funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Health, the conference will focus on strengthening psychological health and safety, supporting recruitment and retention, addressing chronic workplace stress and driving meaningful organizational change.

OBIA will be represented at this year’s conference by Heather Nuttall, MSW, and Stephanie Wadge, MA, from Life After Impact. Heather and Stephanie will present “Invisible Injuries and Hidden Risks in Workplace Cultures of Care,” examining the often-overlooked psychosocial risks faced by health care workers, particularly those working in gender-based violence (GBV) service settings. Drawing on frontline worker insights and the Life After Impact program, which supports individuals experiencing co-occurring GBV and brain injury, their presentation will explore evidence-informed organizational and team-based strategies to strengthen psychological safety, foster respectful and inclusive workplace cultures, reduce psychosocial risk and support sustainable workplaces.

With its focus on moving from individual wellness efforts toward meaningful organizational and system-wide change, the conference provides an important opportunity to connect with health care leaders and professionals, share knowledge and highlight the ways brain injury-informed and trauma-informed approaches can contribute to healthier, safer and more sustainable workplaces across Ontario.
