About Knorr & Associates Inc.

Knorr & Associates Inc. is a specialized nurse-led case management firm providing catastrophic and complex injury coordination across Southeastern Ontario, with a primary focus on acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and severe psychological trauma following motor vehicle accidents.  Knorr & Associates Inc. coordinates care with experienced Occupational Therapists, Kinesiologists/Athletic Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, integrated within nurse-led case management for catastrophic and complex motor vehicle accident injuries.

Founded by Lisa Bauer, RN, Knorr & Associates brings more than 30 years of senior-level clinical and medico-legal experience in the management of high-risk, life-altering injuries. The practice is intentionally structured to support cases where medical complexity, functional impairment, cognitive vulnerability, and long-term care planning intersect with the Ontario auto insurance system.

Ms. Bauer has been nominated multiple times by the Ontario Brain Injury Association for Case Manager of the Year and was awarded the Award of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation for Case Management in 2019. These recognitions reflect a consistent commitment to clinical depth, advocacy, and defensible rehabilitation planning in catastrophic ABI cases.

Knorr & Associates is routinely retained on files involving:

  • Catastrophic and potential catastrophic designations
  • Complex ABI and SCI presentations with cognitive, behavioural, and psychosocial impairment
  • Prolonged hospitalizations and high-risk discharge planning
  • Disputed or heavily scrutinized SABS benefits
  • Long-term attendant care, housing, and life-care needs

Our services extend beyond task-based coordination. We provide strategic oversight of rehabilitation and care planning, including:

  • Nurse Case Management for catastrophic and complex MVA injuries
  • Attendant Care needs assessment and coordination, including Form 1 oversight
  • Hospital-to-community transition planning
  • Interdisciplinary team leadership and accountability
  • Functional and cognitive risk monitoring
  • Return-to-work and vocational planning where medically appropriate

Knorr & Associates is frequently engaged by plaintiff counsel, families, and substitute decision-makers who require a seasoned, independent clinical voice capable of managing risk, documenting impairment, and supporting sustainable long-term outcomes in the context of serious injury.
