Employer Support Initiative

The goal of this initiative is to provide employers with tailored education, training and Enhanced Support Services as their employee returns to work after a concussion/brain injury. This is a FREE SERVICE!

The Employer Support Initiative provides:

  • An online training program tailored to employers (e.g. Executives/Supervisors/Managers/HR Representatives)
  • Access to Enhanced Support Services, which includes support from an Occupational Therapist and Social Worker
    • This portion of the initiative is a collaboration between you and your employee
    • To ensure appropriate consent is received, your employee must initiative these services by contacting the Return to Work team directly

Please note, this program is only available to employers in Ontario.

Yes! We can offer you access to our online training program. Please complete the Expression of Interest form here.

Can you assist or create a gradual return to work plan with accommodations for my employee?

Depending on the support you and your employee require, the Return to Work team can provide either Consultation Services or Enhanced Support Services. Please complete the Expression of Interest form here or contact us at returntowork@obia.on.ca.

My employee has asked me to participate in the Enhanced Support Services, but I have some questions.

The Return to Work team is happy to speak with you about any questions you may have about the Enhanced Support Services portion of the initiative. Please send us an email at returntowork@obia.on.ca.

How will this initiative help me?

By engaging in the online training you will learn about the impact of concussion/brain injury on the return to work process. You will further learn about accommodations and strategies to support your employee. Not only will this training help your employee with a concussion/brain injury, but many of the strategies can be used to help support all of your employees.
