In September 2022, the Provincial Government of Ontario increased monthly funding through the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) by 5% for all eligible participants. As of 2018, the maximum amount eligible to claim monthly for ODSP was $1,169. A 5% increase will provide an additional $58 to the maximum monthly allowance, bringing the total to $1,227. The Ontario Government has also stated that they will assess yearly increases based on rising inflation in Ontario and across Canada.
Brain Injury Speaks conducted a survey for members who are recipients of ODSP (28 respondents). The purpose was to provide input about this increase and how it affects them.
The results from this survey are in this report and will be shared with the Brain Injury Speaks Network. It will also be used to inform the Government of Ontario regarding the needs and perspectives of those living with a brain injury, to help guide future policy and legislation in Ontario.
We greatly appreciate the input of all who participated!
